FiDo Consulting joined forces with Midagon in April 2024. FiDo will be integrated into Midagon’s business and IT transformation services and communication channels, and adopt Midagon’s brand as of October 2024. In this article, Kristian Franzén, Managing Director of Midagon Sweden and Mia Söderlund, Business Area Manager Banking and Insurance and founding partner of FiDo, discuss Midagon’s broadening transformation consultancy offerings and the key elements of successful transformations.
“FiDo’s expert team brings deep business development and change management expertise specialised in the banking and insurance industry. This is one of our strategic focus areas, which we will continue to invest in. Together with Midagon’s previous industry expertise and Nordic reach, we can offer a wide variety of business and IT transformation expertise tailored to many different industries”, says Kristian.
“Together with Midagon’s extensive know-how of leading transformation, we can now support banking & insurance companies more broadly, from business needs, targets and roadmap to implementation, such as IT transformation, cyber security, architecture, and sourcing, on both strategic and hands-on execution levels”, Mia says.
Midagon Group’s over 200 experts help Nordic companies and public organisations navigate complex transformations in Sweden and Finland. Midagon’s vendor- and technology-neutral approach ensures the client’s unique business needs are at the core of every initiative.
“Our consultants have long experience from working with multiple industries and on both sides of the table. Because of this, we know the business environments and challenges inside out. In addition, we are uniquely positioned at the intersection of strategic and hands-on perspectives, as well as business needs and technological capabilities. Our model of accompanying clients throughout the journey from understanding the problems to planning and implementing change to get the desired results enables our clients to really reach long-term business targets and create value from external change drivers”, Kristian says.
“FiDo’s deep niche expertise of banking and payments, life and pensions, and capital markets is completed with Midagon’s similar expertise in Finland. This allows us to continuously learn from each other and harness that knowledge for the benefits of our clients. Many of our banking and insurance clients also operate on a Nordic level. We can now offer them the same reach and market insight”, says Mia.
“First and foremost, experience in leading challenging transformations. Large transformations affect every part of the organisation, as well as its external partners and ecosystem. The know-how for leading them successfully comes only from hands-on experience. This combined with client business and industry expertise gives a good foundation for succeeding”, says Kristian.
“In addition to the previously mentioned, adopting the most suitable methodology for the case at hand is key. As Midagon, we master waterfall, hybrid, and agile methodologies. Instead of bringing our methodology to the client, we adapt to the client’s methodologies and can recommend the most suitable ones for every specific case. I also want to emphasise focusing equally on people, processes, and technologies. In a large transformation, we must lead all of these aspects as equally important”, Mia says.
