Changes in Midagon’s management: Teemu Metsola appointed as Managing Director, Midagon Finland as of 1 September 2024

Midagon has appointed Teemu Metsola as Managing Director, Midagon Finland as of 1 September 2024. Metsola will transfer to this position from his current role as Business Area Director responsible for Process and Manufacturing industries. The appointment is part of a broader management structure update. As of 1 September, Ilkka Töyrylä will act as Midagon Group CEO and Vesa Sahlman as the Group's CDO.

Before joining Midagon, Metsola had a long career in The Finnish Defense Forces, including as chief architect and research manager. He also has long experience managing business and IT transformations, as well as subject matter expert and innovator roles. Metsola joined Midagon in 2019, first as a consultant and from 2021 as Business Area Director. Metsola has a Master's Degree in Economics. He will report to the Group CEO in his new role.

"I accept my new role confidently and look forward to continuing to support our clients' transformation journeys and build success together. With our skilled people and Midagon's strong value base, we have excellent conditions to continue creating value for our clients. We want to strengthen our market position further and be a desired workplace for experienced transformation experts in the future as well. Now, I’ll focus on my current role for a little while longer, and more about my new position will follow after the summer," Metsola says.

Midagon Group aims for growth in the Nordic markets

At the same time, the company strengthens the group's ability to implement its Nordic growth strategy by clarifying its management structure. From 1 September, Ilkka Töyrylä will act as the Group CEO and Vesa Sahlman as the Group CDO.

"Teemu knows our company, our personnel, our clients' operating environment with its challenges and shares our culture and values. I am sure that he will successfully steer our business in Finland forward. At the same time, I look forward to being able to focus on developing the Group organisation and implementing our Nordic growth strategy. Vesa Sahlman's appointment as the Group's Development Director is one of the key factors in building growth. We see strong demand in the Nordics for vendor- and solution-independent consulting that focuses on driving the client’s best interests in challenging change projects, and this is our strength," says Töyrylä.
