Technical lifespan risk eliminated
New legislation requirements in place on time
New ERP go-live without business disruptions
Tamro is the leading service provider and distributor of pharmaceuticals and health products in Finland. Tamro’s ERP solution upgrade was overdue, and the outdated system was becoming a deterrent for growth and strategic direction. At the same time, Tamro’s leadership was well aware of considerable business and reputation risks inherent in complex core system projects in the regulated pharmaceutical industry. Therefore, they wanted to ensure that the project was managed professionally and impartially.
Tamro Finland selected Midagon as the project management partner. Midagon’s project manager worked in partnership with Tamro’s development manager in all project management tasks from planning to post-go-live care, interfacing with the external system integrator team. Midagon’s contribution ensured that all practical aspects of project management were handled effectively, in Tamro’s best interest, and using best practices and extensive experience gained in other similar projects.
The upgraded ERP solution went live smoothly and on schedule, and normal business volumes were achieved in the first days after go-live. Tamro’s ERP solution is a critical component of Finland’s pharmaceutical security and delivery capability. Furthermore, the successful ERP upgrade has improved operational efficiency, allowed Tamro to automate its warehouse management further and implement other strategic initiatives that are resulting in improved customer satisfaction and increased market share.
